  1. hi matt, i read and re-read your post about Fergus. it was one of your best posts ever. when you said you were surprised at your quantity of tears, it reminded me of the Chinese saying, from the lower Yangtze valley: "we use the occasion of other people's funerals to release personal sorrows." (Fergus certainly is people in your household.)
    thank you for many plant insights and photographs since i have been reading Growing with Plants, and now that i too have an elderly and unwell dog-lady here at my house (the garden is under two feet of snow here in 02568), i shall pay more attention– how to make her life more meaningful and appreciated, in the terms you have set out.

    1. Thank you 02568. I suppose only other pet owners understand the loss, but I wouldn't have it any other way, we do love our dogs, as they love us. Wishing lots of kisses for your lady-dog!
