MY FIRST VIDEO

Well, here we go. My first video. Not bad, I suppose for a hand-held ‘selfie’, shot with my iPhone and edited in iMovie. Eventually, I know it will all get better with a real video camera, some nicer editing software and, um…some on-screen talent! I know that these things just take time to master. Let me know what you think. No real subject matter here, as I was just getting a feel for how to do this well. Moving forward, I can see how-to videos, step-by step videos, puppy cam, etc. Now, off to shovel more snow!

  1. Woostah-eee? LOL. For that, you would need to hear my sister ( or Joe!). I think because I spend many years in Hawaii during school, it sort-of became hidden. Don't worry, it emerges, here and theah. Thanks everyone!

  2. Jealous of your happy lemon tree! Mine only gave us one lemon this year (at Thanksgiving). It blooms a ton and the tiny green lemonlets are there after the petals drop but they fall off when they're still tiny. Not sure what I'm doing wrong….I feel like I've been good about not letting it dry out. Anyway, wanted to say that I like the video and the terrier dog is very charming.

    1. Do you keep your lemon tree in your house? When I kept our tree in the house, it tended to drop its fruit. Also, these trees I have now are Meyer Lemons – not sure if that makes a difference, but now I never get any fruit drop.

  3. Wonderful! Yes, continue with the movie format, although your photos are also fantastic!

  4. i thought it was great, loved the inclusion of the dogs in the video and am so envious of your camelias. i miss them!

  5. What a great video! So fun to see the greenhouse and pups running around. We are in the twenties in Charleston, SC for the first time that I can remember in the last ten years…bedsheets galore covering everything I could, I'm afraid some of my bananas and camellias got nipped pretty bad though 🙁 Wishing for a greenhouse today! Loved this!

  6. Great video Matt! You don't waste any time! Love that you included your canine kids in this video. The greenhouse is a veritable treasure trove of lush, green life….. something we're all in desperate need of, especially this winter. Keep up the great work!

  7. ok – so you have totally shamed me — I must get better at this video stuff too (and have been procrastinating it for ages). Publisher wants to do a book trailer (asap) and I am panicking – perhaps I should take a little time before that happens to get myself more comfortable….just an iPhone and my Mac is all I need right?….must give it a go…. thanks for the inspiration. 😉
